Two things you can do today
The first shows you which face of the cycle is costing you most right now, no judgement. The second gives you a script for the next time the return arrives, so it stops being a reflex and becomes a decision you make with your eyes open.
1 · The cycle baseline
It does not measure how much you love anyone: it looks at what the go-and-come-back is costing you. Tick what you recognize from the last month and the baseline tells you which face of the cycle is running the show for you today.
Living with uncertainty
Not knowing where you stand works like a question that never closes. The relationship stays open, and an open relationship keeps using your attention even on the days you are not with that person. The way out starts by naming what you do not know, in one line, instead of trying to feel sure.
Waiting for a signal
Checking the phone calms you for two minutes and charges you the rest of the day. Every check teaches your body a little more that the signal is what decides how you feel, and that is a job you can never finish.
Building the hope again
Each restart arrives with the conviction that this time something changed, and that conviction is exactly what resets the clock. Hope is not the problem: the problem is that it arrives with no concrete change behind it. The question that serves is what is different in facts, not in feelings.
The decision that never lands
Asking everyone what you should do gives you many answers and none of them settles it, because the decision is yours and it has no deadline. A question with a date rests; a question without one uses every day you spend in the middle.
The list is heavily marked, and that is already touching your sleep, your work or your relationships. It is not a lack of willpower: it is a cycle that has been going long enough to become the background of your days. If lasting hopelessness or thoughts of hurting yourself show up too, the lines are below, available all day.

2 · The return script
Choose how the return usually arrives and what you tend to do with it, and I will give you the five steps for the next time it happens, plus the line you already leave ready. You practise it with the next message, not with the last one.
Your five-step script
It measures how much ground your decision has, not how ready you are. Both can change.
