Dual Process Psychoeducation
20 min
7 days · Dual Process Model (Stroebe & Schut, 1999) · CGT (Shear, 2014)
A 20-30 minute daily program to learn healthy oscillation between loss-oriented (LO) and restoration-oriented (RO) grief work. Evidence-based: Stroebe & Schut (1999), Shear et al. (2014 RCT), Bonanno (2004).
This program is psychoeducational — not a replacement for professional treatment. If grief has persisted for 12+ months with functional impairment, consider consulting a grief specialist (PGD, Prigerson 2022). If you have thoughts of not wanting to be here, call 988 (USA), 123 (Colombia) or 116 123 Samaritans (UK).
The Dual Process Model (Stroebe & Schut, 1999) is the most-cited theoretical framework for grief in contemporary clinical literature. Shear et al. (2014) published the largest RCT of Complicated Grief Treatment in JAMA, reporting 72% vs 32% response vs supportive therapy.
